Is your Desktop's Wallpaper plain and boring? Dull and dreary? Pointless and meaningless? Well what are you waiting for then! Set your Desktop's Wallpaper to one of the awesome Pokemon Desktop Wallpapers provided by Pokemon.Marriland.com!
Making it your Wallpaper
To make one of the Desktop Wallpapers (below) a Wallpaper for your Computer's Desktop, follow these easy steps to get it as your Wallpaper:
- Choose the Wallpaper style you want from the ones listed below.
- Choose the Resolution (640x480, 800x600, or 1024x768) of the Desktop Wallpaper that matches your Computer's Screen Resolution. If you don't know what your Screen Resolution is, do the following:
- Go to your Computer's Desktop screen. (The one you look at after your computer has fired it. It probably has a few icons on it for your files and programs.)
- Right-click anywhere on the screen (except for an icon), and then select "Properties" from the Menu.
- On the top-right side of the newly-opened window, click the tab that says "Settings".
- There should be a bar that you can move on the left side of the window. Look around near there, and it should say something like "Screen Resolution" and "1024 by 768 pixels". That's the number you needed to find, and you should choose that number when selecting your Desktop Wallpaper.
- If PMC doesn't have a Wallpaper for the Resolution Size you're currently using, don't worry, just use one that fits on the screen, and it should look smashing as is.
- Click on the link under the thumbnail-image of the Desktop Wallpaper you want to use as your own, and it'll open up a new window.
- Right-click the image, and then, from the Menu, select "Set as Background" (or a similar option if not using Windows XP).
- Ta-da! Now your spiffy new Pokemon Desktop Wallpaper will be available for all to see on your computer!
- You can also Right-click the image and select "Save Picture as..." to save the picture in an easy-to-find location on your computer if you want. You might have to rename it if you do this though.
Using it on your Site
I've gotten over my whole phobia of these Wallpapers eating up my bandwidth, so I guess you can use these Wallpapers as a background for things like your website, MySpace, Blog, or I guess whatever else you need to use it for. I can't provide instructions for individual sites, but you should be able to figure it out.
Here's what you will usually need to do to make it a background:
- Choose the Wallpaper style you want from the ones listed below.
- Choose the Resolution (640x480, 800x600, or 1024x768) of the background you wish to use. 800x600 is your safest bet.
- Right-click on the link to the Resolution of the wallpaper and select Copy Link Location (Firefox) or Copy Shortcut (Internet Explorer) (it might say something else depending on the browser you are using). This copies the URL of the wallpaper to your clipboard, ready to be pasted using CTRL + V or the Paste command.
- If you are putting the wallpaper on your own website, you will want to put the following code between the
<head>and</head>tags:<style type="text/css">It might not let you do that in your Blog, MySpace, etc., but look around to see if there's anywhere that it lets you input the URL for a background image, or even input any CSS. The site you want to put it on might also have a Help section answering such questions.
<!--
body { background-image: url(PASTE (CTRL + V) the URL right here!); background-repeat: no-repeat; }
-->
</style> - Remember to consider the visitor to your webpage! Cool-looking, saturated backgrounds may look great on your computer's desktop, but websites are best equipped with more subtle backgrounds. Any backgrounds good for the purpose of using on sites are marked appropriately.
- Providing a link back to Pokemon.Marriland.com by using the following code is an awesome way to show your appreciation!<a href="http://pokemon.marriland.com">I got my wallpaper at Pokemon.Marriland.com</a>
- And also, I am sharing my bandwidth with you if you use them directly from here. If I notice that you are eating up too much bandwidth by displaying my background, I'll disable you from using it directly (image will be replaced with another image) and ask that you upload it to your own web space. (If you provide a link back to my site, I'll be a lot more lenient with you.)
